How anonymity works

JellyForm is built so that the people giving you feedback cannot be identified — not by guesswork, not by metadata, and not by the box owner. This article explains exactly what happens when someone submits feedback, and what JellyForm deliberately does not collect.

JellyForm is an independent third-party service. The box owner receives the message — never information about who sent it.

What a submission contains

When someone opens your box link and submits feedback, JellyForm stores the content of the submission: the subject (if provided), the message, any custom-field answers, and any attachments. That's it. No name, email address, account, or login is required to submit.

What JellyForm doesn't collect

• No IP addresses. IP addresses are not tracked or stored for anonymous submissions.
• No location, device, or browser information. Nothing that could identify the person is stored with their submission.
• No cookies on submission forms. The feedback form doesn't set cookies that identify who is submitting.
• No unique links. Everyone in your organization uses the same box URL. There are no per-person tracking parameters in the address, so the link itself can't reveal who clicked it.

How replies work without identity

After submitting, the feedback giver gets a private conversation link that only they hold. They can bookmark it and return anytime to read your replies and write back — still without an account, a login, or anything connecting them to the submission. See The private conversation link for details.

What about the optional email?

After submitting, a feedback giver can optionally leave an email address to be notified when you reply. That email is encrypted and hidden from the box owner; only the system can decrypt it to send reply notifications. Someone who wants maximum anonymity can simply skip it — the conversation link works either way. Read more in Optional email notifications for respondents.
