Assign conversations to teammates

Assigning a conversation puts a teammate's name on it, so everyone knows who's following up on each piece of feedback. Assigned teammates appear as avatars at the top of the conversation, and they receive email notifications when the feedback giver sends a new message.

Assign a teammate

1. Open the conversation from your Inbox.
2. Click Assign in the top action bar. If no one is assigned yet, you can also click the dashed Unassigned chip.
3. In the Manage Assignments modal, find the teammate under available team members and click Assign next to their name.

You can assign more than one person to the same conversation. Everyone currently assigned is listed under Currently Assigned in the same modal.

Replying to a conversation also assigns it to you automatically, so a quick answer never leaves the thread ownerless.

Unassign someone

There are two ways to remove an assignment:

• Click an assigned teammate's avatar at the top of the conversation, then click Unassign in the popover.
• Open the Manage Assignments modal and remove them from the Currently Assigned list.

Notifications for assigned teammates

When the feedback giver sends a new message in a conversation, everyone assigned to it gets an email with the subject "New message in assigned conversation" and a link straight to the thread. Teammates can turn these emails on or off with the new-messages preference in their notification settings — see Email notifications you'll receive.

Only people who have joined your company workspace can be assigned. If the right person isn't in the list yet, invite them to your team first.

Coordinate beyond assignments

Assignments say who owns a conversation; internal notes let the rest of the team add context without messaging the feedback giver. Together they keep handoffs clean — assign the owner, then leave a note explaining what's been done so far.
