Roles: owner, admin & member
What owners, admins, and members can each do inside your company workspace.
Everyone in your company workspace has one of three roles: owner, admin, or member. Roles control who can manage the organization itself — team, branding, integrations, billing — while day-to-day feedback work is open to the whole team.
What each role can do
- Owner — the person who created the company. Owners can do everything admins can, plus manage the subscription: the Billing tab in organization settings is only available to owners.
- Admin — full access to organization settings, including the General, Branding, Custom Domains, Notifications, Integrations, and Team tabs. Admins can invite teammates, remove them, and change roles.
- Member — everything needed for the actual feedback work: viewing and replying to conversations, assigning them to teammates, and creating and managing boxes. Members can't open organization settings, and their box access can be limited to specific boxes.
Every role can create boxes, reply to feedback, and assign conversations — roles only gate organization-level management, not the inbox.
Changing a teammate's role
- Open Organization Settings from the company dropdown in the top navigation.
- Go to the Team tab.
- Under Current Team Members, use the role dropdown on a teammate's row to switch them between Member and Admin.
You can't change the owner's role or your own. When you promote a member to admin, any box-access restriction is removed — admins always see all boxes. See Control who sees which box for how member-level restrictions work.
Roles are set per company
If you belong to more than one company, you have a separate role in each — you can be the owner of one workspace and a member of another. The company dropdown shows your role under each company name. See Working across multiple companies.
How many teammates can you have?
The Team plan includes 3 team members; the Business plan has unlimited team members. If you've reached your plan's limit, you'll need to upgrade before sending more invitations — see Plans & pricing. For the invitation flow itself, see Invite your team.
