Understanding the Insights tab

What the Insights tab shows — submission trends, sentiment, and categories — and what the locked-submissions banner means.

Every box has an Insights tab that turns submissions into charts and summaries, so you can see patterns without reading every conversation one by one. Open a box and select Insights in the tab bar to view it.

Insights update as feedback comes in. Use the refresh button next to the page title to pull the latest numbers at any time.

The summary row

Four tiles at the top give you the headline numbers:

  • Total responses — every submission this box has received.
  • Last 7 days — how many arrived in the past week.
  • 8-week trend — a small bar chart of weekly volume. Hover a bar to see the count for that week.
  • Sentiment — the split of positive, neutral, and negative feedback, based on AI sentiment analysis. Until enough submissions have been analyzed, this tile shows "No AI sentiment data yet."

Per-question breakdowns

Below the summary, each custom question on your form gets its own card, matched to the question type:

  • Ratings — the average score plus a distribution of every rating given. Thumbs-style questions show the up/down split.
  • Dropdowns and checkboxes — how often each option was chosen. If an option was renamed or removed after collection started, its recorded answers still appear, marked with a dagger (†) so nothing is hidden. Multi-select questions note that percentages can exceed 100%.
  • Numbers — min, average, max, and sum.
  • Dates — the earliest and latest date submitted.
  • Text answers — recent responses, with a "Show all" option that lists every answer. Each answer links to its full conversation.

Every card shows an "answered" count, such as "42 of 120 answered." Questions added after collection started will naturally have fewer answers than the box total. If the box has no custom questions yet, add some in the Customize tab — see Add custom fields.

The locked-submissions banner

If your company has received more feedback this month than your plan's monthly submission allowance, a banner appears above the charts: "N locked submissions not included in these insights." Those submissions are safely stored — no feedback is ever lost — but they aren't counted in the charts until they unlock, which happens automatically at the start of the next month or immediately when you upgrade. The banner's Upgrade button takes you to billing. See Submission limits & locked submissions for how this works.

Taking your data further

The Export button in the Insights header downloads the underlying conversations so you can analyze them in a spreadsheet or another tool. See Export conversations to CSV.
