The onboarding walkthrough, explained

What each step of the onboarding walkthrough does: create your box, customize it, share it, and review how privacy works.

The first time you sign in, JellyForm runs a short walkthrough that sets up your first box. Here is what each step does — and what you can safely skip.

Your progress is saved as you go, so if you close the tab partway through, you'll pick up where you left off.

Step 1: How did you hear about JellyForm?

A single optional question that helps us understand where new customers come from. Pick an option or click Skip this step — it has no effect on your account.

Step 2: Create your first box

A box is where feedback arrives. Enter a name — suggestions like "Team Feedback", "Suggestions", or "Anonymous Ideas" are one click away — and click Create box. The name is shown to feedback givers, and you can change it later.

JellyForm also adds a sample submission to the new box so your Inbox isn't empty when you arrive.

Step 3: Customize your form

By default your form asks for a subject and message. In this step you can add optional custom fields — for example a department dropdown or a rating — and watch the form update in the live preview. Click Save & Continue to keep your fields, or Skip for now if the default form is enough.

Nothing here is final: you can add, edit, or remove fields anytime from the box's Customize tab. See Add custom fields.

Step 4: Your box is ready — share it

Your box is now live at its public link. This step gives you three ways to spread the word:

  • Copy the box link directly.
  • Copy email template — a pre-written message explaining the box to your team.
  • Copy Slack message — the same, ready to paste into a channel.

More sharing options (QR code, printable flyer, embed widget) live in the app — see Share your box.

Step 5: Why JellyForm?

The final step is a quick summary of how JellyForm protects feedback givers: no IP logging, no cookies, and no fingerprinting on submission forms, plus fully anonymous two-way conversations. Click Continue and you'll land in your new box's Inbox, ready for its first real submission.
