Let respondents attach files

Allow feedback givers to attach files to their submissions. Available on Team plans and above.

You can let feedback givers attach files — screenshots, photos, documents — to their submissions. Attachments arrive with the submission in the conversation, alongside the message and any custom field answers.

File attachments are available on Team and Business plans.

Turn on attachments

  1. Open your box and click the Customize tab.
  2. Scroll to the File Attachments section.
  3. Switch on Enable Attachments.
  4. Click Save Changes in the bar at the bottom of the page.

An Attach files button then appears on your public form, above the submit button.

What respondents can upload

  • Up to 5 files per submission.
  • Up to 10 MB per file.
  • Supported types: images (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP), PDFs, Word and Excel documents, CSV, and plain text files.

Files that are too large or of an unsupported type are rejected with an error message before upload, so respondents can pick something else.

Attachments and anonymity

Files can carry hidden identifying information — camera EXIF data, GPS coordinates, document author names. JellyForm automatically strips this metadata from uploaded files to protect the submitter's anonymity, and the uploader shows a "Metadata stripped" note next to processed files. The form also reminds respondents of this under the attach button.

For the broader picture of what stays hidden from you as a box owner, see How anonymity works.

Attachments work alongside everything else on your form — custom fields, a hidden subject line, or a questions-only layout. See Add custom fields and Customize your form (Build tab). For plan details, see Plans & pricing.
