Customize your form

Use the Customize tab to edit your box's title, subtitle, placeholders, visible fields, and the message people see after submitting.

The Customize tab controls everything a feedback giver sees on your box's public form: the heading, the fields, the placeholder text, and the confirmation screen shown after they submit. Changes only go live when you click Save Changes, so you can experiment freely.

To get there, open your box from the dashboard and click Customize in the tab bar.

Box display

The Box Display section sets the headline of your public form:

  • Box header title — the main heading, up to 60 characters (for example, "Share your feedback with us").
  • Box header subtitle — a short line under the title, up to 120 characters.

Subject and message fields

Every box starts with two built-in fields, and you control both in the Subject and Message section:

  • Show subject field — the subject is always optional for the feedback giver. If you hide it, your Inbox uses the first answer as the conversation subject instead.
  • Subject placeholder — the hint text inside the subject line, up to 60 characters.
  • Show message field — the message is the required free-text field. You can hide it to build a questions-only form, but only after you've added at least one custom field. Answers still arrive as a normal conversation in your Inbox.
  • Message placeholder — the hint text inside the message box, up to 120 characters.

To add your own questions beyond subject and message, use the Additional Fields section — see Add custom fields. A live preview next to the field builder shows exactly what respondents will see. You can also let people attach files — see Let respondents attach files.

The confirmation screen

The Post-Submission section customizes what appears after someone submits:

  • Confirmation Heading — defaults to "Submitted anonymously".
  • Thank You Message — a short line under the heading.
  • Show Suggestion Board Link — invites respondents to browse and vote on your public suggestion board after submitting. This requires your suggestion board to be enabled first; if your company has more than one board, a picker lets you choose which one to link. See Create a public voting board.

Saving your changes

As soon as you edit anything, a bar appears at the bottom of the page with a Save Changes button. Nothing is applied to the live form until you click it.
